like seriously their brain-to-body size ratio is equal to that of a chimpanzee
They vocalize anger, sadness, or happiness in response to things
they are scary smart at solving puzzles
some ravens stay with their mates until one of them dies
they can remember faces
SIDENOTE HERE BECAUSE HOLY SHIT. They did an experiment where these guys wore masks and some of them fucked with crows. Pretty soon the crows recognized the masks = douchebag. But the nice guys with masks they left alone. THEN, OH WE’RE NOT DONE, NO SIR crows that WEREN’T EVEN IN THE EXPERIMENT AND NEVER SAW THE MASK BEFORE knew about mask-dudes and attacked them on sight. THEY PASSED ON THE FUCKING INFORMATION TO THEIR CROW BUDDIES.
They remember places where crows were killed by farmers and change their migration patterns.
Morph is a mechanic about hidden identity where the opponent doesn’t know what they are. Their creative treatment the first time had the creatures hidden by a clay spider shell. Whenever we revisit a mechanic we look for ways to improve upon it and that includes creative elements.
Clay spiders are much akin to bands with others, an idea that need never show its head again. The new version is a fresh take on how the magic hides the identity, one I think is much cooler.
I actually agree fpr pnce here in that I also like the Draconic magic it somewhat makes sense in them having stronger/weaker power and toughness toi because the magic itself is slightly damaging, and makes it harder to kill what is inside using the magic and once the magic is off you know exactly what you are facing its a very familiar theme and I like it!
